The video and pictures show Port Harcourt Road in Aba, Abia State. It is the most important road in the heart of this city of industrious hustlers where a great amount of made-in-Nigeria consumable goods are produced and then distributed across the country. Unfortunately this production powerhouse has been abandoned by both the Abia State government and the Federal government. But the zeal for enterprise and production has not diminished in these people. Every day through rain or sunshine they head into work, enduring some of the most intractable traffic snarls outside of Lagos, and in this condition they churn out shoes, clothes, furniture, beddings, curtains, and all imaginable items that we use in the country.
This is calling on the state government and Federal Government to urgently invest money and effort into the city, to make it more efficient and accelerate the process of local production and industrialization in Nigeria.
